Sustainability Policy

CICP practices and promotes increased sustainability of our forests by utilizing the lower grades of lumber from western red cedar by adding value.

This is accomplished by our ability to extract and recover the higher grades of wood contained in the lower grades of cedar lumber resulting in the use of less fibre. This recovery from our manufacturing facility enables us to have a line of quality engineered products such as fascia, siding, panels, trim boards, architectural landscape products etc.

This low grade material that once was classified as waste is now utilized in our secondary manufacturing plant by us which improves the net recovery from the trees that are already harvested which directly contributes to the overall sustainability of our forest resource.
